The Grand V-mount Hotel. Part I

This part of our journey created a good set of memes. I will try to describe the environment in as much details as possible so you could feel the absurd of the situation.
Probably, linking to Tarantino's "Four Rooms" would be the best reference to this story. As I was  saying earlier, our goal was to see as much as possible and spend as little as possible. Therefore we were saving on our stays in hotel by driving from the parks of Alberta to small towns in British Columbia, where prices where much friendlier than in the resorts area.
Our first night we spent in Edmonton, on the second night we got closer to the entrance to Jasper, where we rented a relatively nice room listed as "two queens, non-smoking". We checked in, went upstairs to check the room and left our backpacks. On the way we figured out that between our room and the stairs there were a room for unknown amount of smoking truck drivers. Guys had the door open and few of them looked drunk enough to prevent us from wandering around the hotel at night time. We quickly made one more trip to the car to get our luggage and locked ourselves in the room. Here happened an interesting thing - two non-smoking queens with university's diplomas could not switch water to the shower mode, but going to the reception to ask about our issue was problematic, because we didn't want to pass by the truck drivers. So showering question was resolved with some acrobatics and washing hair was postponed until the next day.
"We will be staying in the V-mount hotel, that has 4.2 rating, it is not like two-story motel here! We can wait until tomorrow!" - said Natty. I agreed. If I only knew...
The V-mount hotel had a nice description - restaurant and bar on the first floor, Swiss bakery walking distance from the hotel, not bad reviews after all! The railway near the hotel didn't look too attractive, but while booking we've decided that it's only one night and too many trains should not pass through the quiet town underneath the mountains. I may tell you that all our assumptions were wrong.
We spent long day in Jasper, stopping on each corner, picturing every lake on our way, going on trails and so on. Closer to the sunset we decided to head out from the park towards B.C. Our plan was to check in, change clothes, go downstairs for dinner, on the way out get a shot of whiskey in the bar to feel the atmosphere of the small town, shower, sleep, check out early and go back to the mountains. The weather on our way was pretty bad, we caught heavy rain on the steep mountain roads. Shot of whiskey was a highlight of our plan by the time when we reached the town of V-mount.

The town was covered with silence and emptiness: no cars, no lights in the buildings along the road, no pedestrians. I was navigating, while Natty was driving
- 400 meters ahead, you won't miss it - it is the end of the road and the town.
At this moment the railway crossing started to flash about 350 meters ahead. We stopped and got stuck watching the train that had at least 100 carts in it!
- Our hotel is right after the railway.
- Good luck sleeping tonight!
- Do you think trains are passing by often over here?
- I think that it wasn't the best booking. We should ask for the room on the opposite side.

The gravel road after the railway lead us to the strange two-story building. It was still raining when we got to the parking lot. All spots in front of the building where taken. We found a place under the light pole and not in the puddle and went inside to check in.
The porch had three doors - the liquor store, the pizzeria and entrance to some hall. In the hall we haven't seen the reception desk, but saw more doors - inside access to the pizzeria, glass doors to the stairwell, two wooden doors "employees only" and a narrow way to the bar.
The big sign on the wall was saying "For room rental please see bar attendant".

- Shall we try to find another hotel, sleep in the car or risk staying here?
- I don't know. This place is weird. And it's too late to look for something else.
We decided to walk into the bar. It was a big room with only one lamp over the counter. The woman of unknown age with blond hair and press of wise life experience on her face asked if we need some help.
- We would like to check in to the hotel
- Oh, you are Natty! I was waiting for you! (it all reminŠ²ed some horror or Lynch's mystery  movie) May I have your credit card?
- The room was 100% pre-paid online.
- I know, it's just a procedure. Here is your key! You can go upstairs.
- Is this room by any chance facing the yard?
- No, I don't have any double queen rooms left on that side. It is facing the street.
- Ok, we mumbled trying to get out from the bar.
- Wait, I think I have one room that you can use! Just one second.
She passed us another key.
- It is room 201, you'll like it.
